With the above platforms, people can rent out their parking spaces to earn extra money. However, there’s a common downside: these apps typically take a 5% to 10% cut from each user’s earnings. 

For example, if Jim makes around $350 from renting his space, an app like Neighbor would take a host fee of 4.9% of all payments, plus an additional $0.30 per transaction. After these deductions, Jim would actually receive about $332. This is what Jim had in mind when he first signed up on the platform.

Another drawback is that many of these platforms are only accessible on websites and don’t have mobile apps. This can limit convenience and accessibility, as users might miss potential opportunities if they don’t have immediate access through their phones.
